The Hotel "La Costa"**** is located in a peaceful estate in a natural, picturesque environment, surrounded by pine trees, and with direct access to one of the largest fine sand beaches.
The Empordà was the home to many ancient peoples who left behind dolmens in Fitor, Iberian ruins in Ullastret, the Jewish Quarter in Girona, Roman ruins in Empúries, medieval towns in Pals, Peratallada and Monells, the castle of Montgrí, and many more examples, not to mention the monasteries, churches and hermitages.
All of these historical landmarks have made the Empordà a source of inspiration for writers and artists like Josep Pla or Salvador Dalí, who left, among other treasures, Púbol castle or the Dalí Museum of Figueres.
Music is another well-rooted tradition. Sea shanties, or "Habaneras" accompanied by hot rum, or "cremat", traditional Sardanas to the sound of pipes, and the International Music Festivals of Peralada, Torroella de Montgrí or Cap Roig, are now a consolidated cultural offer in the area.
Popular festival activities are also important in the province, with the flower festival of "Girona Temps de Flors", an exhibition of scenic flower arrangements in the Jewish Quarter of Girona, alongside craft or antiques fairs and medieval markets.
Other festivals such as carnival, the bonfire celebrations of St. John's Day, or the processions of Easter Week, among others, complete the extensive cultural offer of our area. The Baix Empordà region has some of the most beautiful Mediterranean landscapes, which along with its mild climate, even on sunny days in winter, adds to the beauty of its landscape. |
